Developing and fun activitivies for Ukrainian children
In cooperation with Participe Amstelland, Buurtkamer Keizer Karelpark, Solidarity Bridge Foundation, Gemeente Amstelveen Bright Future Foundation and its volunteers organized an impactful event for Ukrainian refugee children
4-8 years old Ukrainian children were involved in fun and developing activities, experienced various workshops, did experiments, learned a lot of new Dutch words and expressions. The activity plan consisted of different workshops and experiments, which Bright Future's and Solidarity Bridge's volunteers developed in the frame of their Solidarity projects "Dutch for Non-Dutch", "Kids' Club", "Bilingual Book for International Children".
Some parents from Ukraine were also involved in the activities. Together with their parents they experienced European learning methods, saw in practice how big impact informal learning can have on their children.
At the end of the event all the children received presents and ate pizza together in friendly environment.
Smiles and shining eyes of the children made us believe, that if different organisations work together actively, like we did to bring this great event to life, there will be more and bigger Solidarity events like this in our region, which will benefit even more children and parents.
Many thanks to all the children and their parents for taking part in the book's ready draft pages' process evaluation session.
This Solidarity Project is aimed to create and publish an interactive non-formal bilingual book (Dutch/English) for international children and their parents. The project is being implemented by Bright Future Foundation in Amstelveen by our active and initiative volunteers under the European Union’s Solidarity Corps.
